RepRap Festival

Rocky Mountain RepRap Festival returns to Loveland at 9 a.m. Saturday-Sunday, April 20-21, at the First National Bank Exhibition Hall at The Ranch, 5280 Arena Circle.

The event will include Death Races, TF Dragsters and other showcases of RepRap technology. Connect with fellow makers and engage with the latest 3D printing innovations.

Drum Circle

A Community Drum Circle celebrating Earth Day will be held at 2-3:30 p.m. Sunday, April 21, at the River’s Edge Natural Area amphitheater, 960 W. First St.

Members of Djembe Jive will perform. Drummers will face the amphitheater, which will be open for public participants. Bring a drum if you have one. Small percussion instruments will be available for anyone who wants to join in.

Chairs are allowed on the upper sidewalk and surrounding area.

Purple Ribbon Breakfast

Alternatives to Violence will hold its Annual Purple Ribbon Breakfast at 8-9 a.m. Tuesday, April 23, at Embassy Suites, 4705 Clydesdale Parkway.

The event aims to raise awareness about what the nonprofit organization does to provide shelter, advocacy, education and resources for people impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking, and to raise funds for ATV’s SafeHouse, programs and operations.

This year’s guest speakers are survivor advocate Kimberly Corban, a consultant for End Violence Against Women International and co-host of the “Survivor’s Guide to True Crime” podcast; and Erica Bethel, a domestic violence survivor and founder of Joy & Justice.

Loveland West Farmers Market will be open for the season at 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday, April 23 through Nov. 5, at Jax, 2665 W. Eisenhower Blvd.

The Loveland East Farmers’ Market will be open 9 a.m.-1 p.m. every Friday, June 7 through Sept. 27 at Jax, 950 E. Eisenhower Blvd.

Both markets will feature local vendors.

Barn Dance

A NOCO Boot Scootin’ Barn Dance and Barbecue will be held at 6-11 p.m. Saturday, April 20, at M&M Farms, 21490 County Road 7.

The American Legion Post 67, VFW/VFW Auxiliary Post 12189 and Pivotal Impact Programs are holding the event to help fund essential programs for local veterans and first responders including: financial assistance to veterans and their families in need; youth programs; an Adopt a Highway clean up program; and Pivotal Impact Programs’ local wellness retreats.

The evening will feature local band Shred the Cowboy, a chuck wagon-style barbecue dinner, beverages, country western line dance Instruction, a silent auction and more.

FORT COLLINS

Earth Day

Earth Day Fort Collins will be held at 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, April 20, at Civic Center Park, 201 Laporte Ave.

Featured activities will include more than 70 educational booths, interactive demonstrations, speakers, electric vehicle ride and drive, food trucks, a beer garden, makers market and a kids area featuring face painting, nature activities and art.

New this year will be a FoCoMX stage with live music from The Commoners, Philip Chavez, Danse Afrik, the Antonio Lopez Band and Spidercat.

Admission is free. Those attending are asked to bring a nonperishable food item for the Food Bank for Larimer County.

Steve Aoki

DJ and music producer Steve Aoki will play Moby Arena at Colorado State University on Saturday, April 20, following the CSU spring football game.

The show will feature five artists and is the first stop on the Extra Credit Tour 2024, presented by Disco Presents.

Aoki is an iconic figure in electronic dance music. He has performed for audiences across the world and has collaborated with artists such as will.i.am, Linkin Park, Lil Jon, Blink 182, Backstreet Boys, Kid Cudi and Rise Against.

Supporting artists for the show include Los Angeles-based Wax Motif, an Australian born DJ/producer; Ship Wrek, a fast-rising DJ and producer duo known for high-energy sets; Nostalgix, a self-taught Canadian DJ, singer and producer in the house scene; and DJ Swagrman, who brings a Latin flavor with reggaeton, dancehall percussion and country moombahton, and is an influencer with his pet husky Swaggy.

The CSU Football team’s spring game will kick off earlier in the day, offering fans free admission to watch the CSU Football Team face off in a “Green vs. Gold” scrimmage.

Ecotourism and Wolves

In a salute to Earth Day, the Global Village Museum of Arts and Cultures, 200 W. Mountain Ave., will host an all-day event that highlights ecotourism, “Ecotourism and Yellowstone Wolves.”

From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 20, information on ecotourism will be available in the museum’s program room and students from Warner College of Natural Resources at Colorado State University will be available to provide information on ecotourism.

At 5:30-7 p.m., “Wolves and Wildlife in Yellowstone” will be presented by Paul Brown and Julie Sivertson, the owners and operators of Gather Away, who will describe the scenery and wildlife that travelers will experience in Jackson Hole, Wyo., and the greater Yellowstone ecosystem.

Wolf Sanctuary Gala

WOLF Sanctuary Gala 2024 — Rock ‘n’ Howl will take place at 5-10 p.m. Saturday, April 20, at the Hilton Fort Collins, 425 W. Prospect Road.

There will be dinner, a costume contest, live and silent auctions, and a visit from one of the WOLF ambassador animals.

Trolley Volunteers

The Fort Collins Trolley will hold a new volunteer information session at 1-2 p.m. Saturday, April 20, at the Fort Collins Trolley Depot, 1501 W. Oak St.

‘Our Town’

The Colorado State University School of Music, Theatre, and Dance will present Thornton Wilder’s “Our Town” at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 19-20, and Thursday-Saturday, April 25-27, and at 2 p.m. Sundays, April 21 and 28, at the University Center for the Arts, 1400 Remington St.

The American classic won the Pulitzer Prize in 1938.

Exploring timeless questions about the meaning of love, companionship, life and death, the play tells the story of the fictional American small town of Grover’s Corners, N.H., between 1901 and 1913 through the everyday lives of its citizens.

Tickets are $18 for adults, $14 for ages 62-plus, and $9 for youths under 18, available at theatre.colostate.edu.

FRCC Breakfast

The Front Range Community College Foundation’s second annual Breakfast of Opportunity will take place at 8-9:30 a.m. Thursday, April 25, at the Grays Peak Building on the Larimer Campus, 4616 S. Shields St.

Those attending will learn more about the work of the Foundation and ways to support students’ dreams, hearing from student scholars, and school president, Dr. Colleen Simpson.

¡Alebrijes! Exhibit

​In March, the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery hosted artists from Mexico City for a multi-week residency to create a large format Alebrije onsite.

Alebrijes are brightly colored fantastical creatures made using paper, paste and paint in the Mexican tradition of catonería, an artform that expresses human imagination, emotion and tradition with paper and paste.

The Alebrijes exhibit will be open through the end of July at the museum at 408 Mason Court. Hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday.

Admission is $12.50-$15.

Art Fundraiser

Hawaii Fluid Art Fort Collins will hold a fundraiser for Trees, Water & People at noon-4 ​p.m. Sunday, April 21, at the studio at 4421 Corbett Drive, Unit 100.

Attendees can create a small fluid art painting with a shiny resin coating for $50 per person. Half of the proceeds will be donated to ​Trees, Water and People, a nonprofit that ​works on environmental stewardship.

GREELEY

‘Willy Wonka Jr.’

NoCo Theatrix will perform “Willy Wonka Jr.” at 2:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. Saturday-Sunday, April 20-21, at the Hensel Phelps Theatre, 651 10th Ave.

This adaptation of Roald Dahl’s fantastical tale follows the enigmatic candy manufacturer Willy Wonka as he stages a contest by hiding golden tickets in five of his scrumptious candy bars. Whomever comes up with these tickets will win a free tour of the Wonka factory, as well as a lifetime supply of candy. Four of the five winning children are insufferable brats, but the fifth is a likeable young lad named Charlie Bucket, who takes the tour in the company of his equally amiable grandfather. The children must learn to follow Mr. Wonka’s rules in the factory — or suffer the consequences.

ESTES PARK

National Park Week

Rocky Mountain National Park will celebrate National Park Week, National Volunteer Week, Earth Day, and National Junior Ranger Day Saturday, April 20, through Sunday, April 28.

National Park Week kicks off with a fee-free day on April 20, when all park entrance fees will be waived. Camping, overnight wilderness backpacking, and all other administrative fees remain in effect.

On the east side of the park, join NPS and Rocky Mountain Conservancy staff at Beaver Meadows Visitor Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 20 for informational booths and fun interactive activities for all ages.

Kids can earn a Junior Ranger badge, and all ages can learn about different plants and wildlife that call Rocky home and about hiking safety, can participate in an interactive Rocky Lab activity, decorate a tree cookie and more.

At 2 p.m. Sunday, April 21, Pete Devine, former Yosemite Conservancy Education Director (retired) will give a talk at the Beaver Meadows Visitor Center on “Dr. Steller’s Jay: A Living History Presentation Done in the Person of G.W. Steller.” To learn more, visit rmconservancy.org/upcoming-events.
