Focus on Uganda

ATU St Angela’s students and staff are travelling to Uganda in July 2024 to deliver vision assessment and bring much needed eye glasses to the community. Please donate children or adult’s glasses. A team of us are heading back to Uganda this summer and will glady recycle any old eyeglasses you might have lying around. Glasses of all types, kids and adults.

For any reading glasses, if you happen to know the strength of them it would be really helpful to include it on a note. No cases needed. Drop off points at McGoldrick’s Centra Dromahair and XL Dromahair so huge thanks to Joe and Gavin for their support again this year. Thanks everyone

Park Fundraising

Riverstown Community Park is a wonderful amenity to have in the area. Last April lights were added making it safe for use in the winter months.

There are ongoing costs associated with the park such as insurance, water charges, electricity, refuse collection and general maintenance. Thank you to local groups Shamrock Gaels, Arrow Harps, Community Games and the Agricultural Show for their yearly contribution to running costs.

However, there is always a shortfall. This is an appeal to walkers who use the park on a regular basis to consider becoming a friend of Riverstown Community Park for as little as €5 a month to help ensure this excellent amenity will be maintained into the future.

To set up a monthly standing order please contact any of the Park trustees: Ann Kelly 0872288473; John Quinn 0868276579; Sean McDermott 0872637032.
